Salysi is based in Wellington, New Zealand. All of our pieces are made and shipped from here, and we offer shipping throughout New Zealand as well as internationally. Shipping options and rates will be shown at checkout based on your location. For international customers, please see below for details on where we ship and what to expect with duties and import taxes.

Duties, Taxes & Import Fees

Orders shipped outside of New Zealand may be subject to local duties, taxes, and import fees, depending on your country’s regulations. These charges are determined by your local customs authority and are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise stated.

We currently ship on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means, if applicable any import duties, taxes, or handling fees will be charged to you by your local customs office or delivery provider when your order arrives. These fees are not included in the product price or shipping cost shown at checkout.

Here’s what to expect in each region:

  • Australia: No duties or taxes on items under $1000 AUD. Sales tax may be applied at import on orders over $1000 AUD.

  • UK: VAT is charged on almost all imports, regardless of value. Customs duty may apply on orders over £135, depending on the product type. Couriers typically collect VAT/duty before delivery.

  • USA: No import duties on orders under USD $800 (the U.S. de minimis threshold). Orders above this may incur customs duties depending on the product category. Note: Some goods may be subject to additional tariffs under current U.S. trade policies. These are assessed by U.S. Customs and vary by material and product type - these are the responsibility of each buyer to pay.

  • Canada: Import duties (up to ~9%) and GST/HST (5–15%) may apply depending on your province.

  • South Korea & Japan: VAT/consumption tax of 10% is typically charged. Small import duties may also apply.

  • Singapore: GST of 9% is charged on orders over S$400. Below this, no tax is applied.

  • Hong Kong: No import duties or sales tax.

Customs Declarations

All orders include a commercial invoice with:

  • Accurate item description and value

  • HS (Harmonised System) code

  • Country of origin (New Zealand)
     

We work hard to ensure smooth customs clearance, but please note that delays caused by your local customs agency are outside of our control.
